Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2020. Here’s my 2 cents. Great p. A fantastic buy for the money This amp has incredible tone but you have ce to expect that from Paul Reed Smith. The reverb is a spring reverb , not digital and sounds great , better than most amps reverb out there .

This amp sounds exactly like a FENDER Twin Reverb. I play a lot of small tied and also stage gigs and this works perfect. This page works best with JavaScript.

... and it's hard to play quiet. The only negatives I feel this amp has is that it doesn't handle high output pickups very well , gets a little muddy sounding but not a deal breaker for me , Single coils and lower output humbuckers sound amazing on this amp. PRS made it up by shipping me 5 sets of strings & a T shirt but forgot to include the nut!

Happy customers, one piece of gear at a time! Those are all great amps in their own respect. The PRS Sonzera is one of my favorite amps because of its versatility and great sound.

I've owned mine for about 6 months now and am blown away by the tone and the amount of control i have over it. Now is the perfect time to get the gear you want with simple, promotional financing.

The first one had a terrible AC buzz out of the box.

If you want a classic style amp with jamming and gigging in mind, I think you’d be doing yourself a huge favor by ordering it as I did, sight unseen and letting it, most likely, blow your mind. The BB 15 might be more of a fair fight.

Just prior to next show my brand new replacement amp came on day of show. Everything you love about Sweetwater in the palm of your hand. I prefer this particular control selection for ease of use. This is a great amp ....everything you need in a small package . This time I went to PRS customer service and quickly learned that they aren't Sweetwater! PRS Sonzera 20.

The amp I have now is OK but has been relegated to back up/practice because it should be quieter.

I won't really comment on how it stacks up with my other amps clean tone, because the vox is voxy, the HD Dlx is fendery and the orange was orangey in tone. PRS describe it as a grab-and-go combo, and it fulfils this role very well indeed.
This change reduced the gain a bit and smoothed out a lot of the fizz on the gain channel . It's perfect for blues /hard rock , not recommended for metal , This amp is not voiced for it . Straight to venue, stage was set up, on first note of soundcheck the second brand new amp blew!

The clean channel sounds beautiful and the dirty channel can achieve any distortion sound you'd ever need. So I went over my friends house two weeks ago. Here's how it stacks up, doesn't have the voxy chime, doesn't have the scooped fendery twang like the HR Deluxe. The quality is phenomenal. I would say it pretty much has its own classic amp style sound. The Sonzera is a great amp, it works for everything from shimmering cleans to classic rock and even high gain metal sounds. Everything I hoped it would be. Most of my stuff is ordered here on Amazon, so I just thought it was important to give a heads up on this particular amp. The PRS Sonzera 20 is a very good guitar amplifier. This amp is unfortunately marketed almost exclusively in conjunction with PRS guitars.
It uses 6L6GC power tubes just like the FENDER Twin Reverb. The one I received had an annoying transformer hum - more pronounced in the clean channel. He just got his sonzera 50 and of course I played and realized the thing was super loud or to loud for me but I loved the sound so I jumped on to sweetwater and picked up the 20 I was kinda worried because of the wattage and different tunes from the 50 but when I lit arrived I was pleasantly suprised that it gave me the same joy my friends 50 did. A lot more time is spent playing then messing around with those.

Although PRS said they test played the amp, I don't see how they didn't notice the missing nut. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The clean channel is very crisp with plenty of headroom .

So what's the point right! The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe has been my main amp for small gigs and home practice/jams for 14 years. Great clean channel with plenty of headroom . The only problem I had was the pre amp chaise was a little loose, other than that it works well.

Again , It's not a deal breaker ,But it should be considered before buying this amp .
