What more do you need?! Film data from TMDb. mediocre and self indulgent BUT there were gays present so I'll add half a star. The scenery and costuming is decent enough. In 1920 nurse Florence Nightingale Shore (the goddaughter of her more famous namesake) is bludgeoned to death on a train.
The suspects include Daphne Miller, a young woman whose nursing career Florence could have ruined if she had lived, Randolph, Florence's cousin who inherited her money, Zaki Hanachi, a French soldier of African ancestry who she helped recover after the war, and who may have been asking her for money, Travis Pickford, a boxer and black marketer who was interviewed by the police, and Mrs. Pamela Rose, the woman Florence was travelling to see. This was extremely fun and charming. Always nice to see Tim McInnerny popping up in things. The film itself plays out very similarly to your standard cosy mystery—a cast of suspects gathered together in a country house so the detective can figure out whodunnit. As she searches for an alternative creative route to revive her novel development, she is approached by a woman, Mabel Rogers, seeking help in solving the murder of her partner, Florence Nightingale Shore, who had been bludgeoned on a train.
Detective Inspector Dicks arrives with a single constable, complaining that he is shorthanded because of the hunt for Agatha Christie, and that because of this he must conduct the investigation at the house instead of the police station. It works as a tv pilot - like if they were seeing how many seasons of sleuthing she could fit into her leap week, I’d sign up for 46 episodes of Netflix binge... but as a stand alone adventure it doesn’t hold up. It looks like we don't have a Synopsis for this title yet.
In 1926, Agatha Christie finds herself in a difficult place when her writing is thwarted by predictable plot lines and her unfaithful husband pushes her for a divorce she does not want. Mysteries, for me, are usually the exception, if they're done with basic competence; this one passes muster.
The acting is good, the costumes are nice and…. The plot uses elements of classic detective novels, and also contains references to Christie's novels, ... Agatha and the Truth of Murder was produced by Brett Wilson and directed by Terry Loane, and stars Ruth Bradley in the eponymous role of Agatha Christie. But the woman leaves behind a folder of news clippings, and Agatha soon grows curious. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to mysteries—I'll take what I can get, basically—especially when they're British. About the author herself who has to pull the brilliance of every detectives she wrote about to solve a real-life murder. Agatha decides to take a leave of absence from her life and together with Mabel, sets up a scenario in an old country manor. The love for the genre seeps through the screen. If you’re interested in Agatha Christie’s disappearance, then Agatha (1979) has Timothy Dalton in it. Look at the numbers in the list. If it weren't for the gimmick* of Christie solving a real life murder, it wouldn't be anything all that special. Miss Shore was bludgeoned six years earlier. No real insights into Christie’s character, a flat mystery, solid set design, and there are some nice performances but the actors are given little to do.
What we have is a good piece of TV entertainment, especially if you love her writing. The murderer was never caught. 2018 It's not particularly deep or involved. Never even heard of it before and found it on Netflix. In 1926, with her personal life in tatters and her writing in crisis, a young Agatha Christie decides to solve a real-life murder. She just can't come up with an interesting plot for a new book. Ruth Bradley was excellent as the titular character.

I often bemoan a plot-heavy film, but really, I am bemoaning non-compelling plots. Report this film. a nice autumn feeling to it x.
Agatha decides to take a leave of absence from her life and together with Mabel, sets up a scenario in an old country manor. So, I was pleased to see this on Netflix. That's a shame really as this was very entertaining for any that loves any of Agatha Christie's work.

Accessable movies on SVT play and thats Swedish public service. If you’ve run out of British detective shows (my hats off to you) then this is something, but there is nothing you won’t find done better in any of the 70 episodes of ITV’s Poirot.
Mabel is able to search the guests' bags, and finds that Wade Miller may have a pistol with him. She soon finds herself taken to a new story with real characters and tangible danger. With Dean Andrews, Ruth Bradley, Bebe Cave, Amelia Dell.
With a general lack of care around accents, modes of speech and what was likely said, there’s little point quibbling over known fact, fidelity or truth in….
Dicks reveals to "Mary" that he knows that she is Agatha Christie. For any who don't know in real life Agatha Christie disappeared for 11 days. A good insight into Agatha Christie and a solid detective story along the same lines.
[9], The film was released in Canada and the United States as VOD on Netflix on 31 January 2019. [4] The train scenes were shot at the Downpatrick and County Down Railway,[6] using both Downpatrick station and the Loop Platform, the latter of which was dressed as Polegate Junction.

Agatha and the Truth of Murder.
Ah, quel whodunnit sympathique! Última atualização: 26/09/2020, "Don't rub 'em son. In a dramatized depiction of her 11-day disappearance, novelist Agatha Christie solves a real murder amid a crisis in her writing and marriage.
The fact that it's a speculation on a real life mystery is squandered, however--the premise is less a set up for exploring what might have happened when Agatha Christie disappeared and more an excuse to have her solving mysteries.
Genres. As if there weren’t enough detective series on television, here’s another in a highly speculative piece of nonsense attempting to create a detective out of a real life author.

In 1926, with her personal life in tatters and her writing in crisis, a young Agatha Christie decides to solve a real-life murder. Personally, I think she had a breakdown with her mother dying earlier in the year and then her husband having an affair with another woman. Clare McMahon as Carlo, Christie's secretary. It weaves in another unsolved mystery, the murder of Florence Nightingale's god-daughter, Florence Nightingale Shore. Not groundbreaking but decently made with a likeable cast.
