YP2LE’s goal is to give youth program implementers, researchers, and changemakers the information, tools, and resources they need to develop high-quality, impactful, and sustainable programs. Hilda’s experience in youth-led research and policy has included the Youth4Policy fellowship with Konrad Adenuer Stiftung (KAS) and Youth Think Tank (YTT) fellowship with the MasterCard Foundation. The YP2LE team will also advise USAID on how to engage with youth and youth-led and youth-serving organizations as well as build the capacity of local institutions to design and conduct PYD- focused assessments and evaluations. Participate one-to-one check-in calls with the YouthLead team every other month. Hilda is a passionate youth-led research, youth engagement, policy and development practitioner with more than seven years of practical experience in conducting research, developing policy publications and supporting the implementation of public health and development projects in Uganda and South Africa. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and one year of work experience, OR a High School Diploma and six years of work experience, Are from a low- and middle-income country and/or very well acquainted with low- and middle-income country contexts and youth issues, Spoken and written proficiency in English, Demonstrated focus on youth development (for example: youth economic opportunities, entrepreneurship, education, gender, health, peace and conflict resolution, democracy and governance, media, or the arts), Are comfortable using technology such as email, WhatsApp, Google Hangout, Zoom, and Adobe Connect, Have an active membership in and/or leadership of a local, regional, or global youth-led organization  and maintain  strong connections with other youth organizations and networks, Take the initiative and solve problems creatively, Demonstrate they are excellent writers, communicators, and presenters, Possess an ability to work effectively and respectfully with others from a range of different backgrounds, cultures, and communities toward achieving a common goal. The YAG is expected to start in May 2020, with members serving one-year terms. We are inspired and motivated by the work that these changemakers are doing around the world to positively impact their communities.

YAG members will support activities across YP2LE, including the global YouthLead.org platform and its related activities and campaigns. YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) is a USAID-funded activity focused on building and disseminating the evidence on Positive Youth Development (PYD). YP2LE will continue to build on the body of evidence that YouthPower Learning amassed as well as conduct research, evaluate innovative youth programs, and disseminate information to expand the knowledge base on what does and does not work in youth development, providing practitioners and researchers with the necessary tools to continuously improve the effectiveness of youth development practices.
