Angling remains open at the following reservoirs: Derwent, Whittle Dene, Balderhead, Cow Green, Hury, Kielder, Scaling Dam, Selset and Blackton.

Additionally, due to the topography of Fontburn Reservoir, the exposed banks and shoreline are too soft, slippy and steep for it to be safe for walkers who might venture onto them.

The Gate is located just to the north east of the reservoir at Forestburn Gate. There is a lovely playpark for kids, toilets, plenty of parking (£3.50 for four hours) and a small shop.
